Let Him That Boasteth Boast In Me

"Thus saith YHWH, 'Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am YHWH which exercises lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight,' saith YHWH. 'Behold, the days come,' saith YHWH, 'that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised; Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.'" {Jeremiah 9:23-26}

I had recently heard somewhere that the word "glorify" really means to boast of YHWH. This set of verses in the portion for this week reminded me of that. We are to glorify him in everything we do or say, yes. But the preference is that we make a special effort to do so.  Like a new grandparent boasts of their latest grandbaby, or a Bride her Love, we should make a particular effort to boast of YHWH and praise him in all that we do or say.
....I'm not sure how to expound on this. It sounds cliche, but we seem to take it for granted. The more I think about it, the more I hear the complaining or dissatisfied attitudes coming from my mouth and those around me. Not that we're necessarily "complaining" more, just that I have noticed it more. I have also realized that for whatever reason, I have felt embarrassed or shy about sharing my faith. I know that I'm not really a "people person" personality-type. But that's not a good excuse, it just means I have to work harder to acheive my goal. So, I'm planning to work on this. So, that was my "profound in its simplicity" kick-myself-for-not-doing-it-before, thought-to-mull-over for this week. What's yours?
"Ye that fear YHWH, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel." {Psalm 22:23}
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." {Matthew 5:16}
"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." {1 Corinthians 6:20}
"I will praise thee, O YHWH my Elohim, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore." {Psalm 86:12}
"But if you suffer for being a Christian, do not feel ashamed, but glorify YHWH with that name."
{1 Peter 4:6}
