A Special Sister

"Let us then be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait."
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
My sister is celebrating the completion of her homestudies today. She has grown in many ways, mostly good, over these past years. As her older sister I have seen her at her worst and best. I think that I can honestly say that I am proud of all the time and hard work she has put into learning. I know that she will continue to grow and become a better person than she already is.

While I have four other siblings, they are all much younger than us, so we have always been closest. She gets into scrapes with me, goes on adventures with me, and is always there to help me up when I fall... after she stops laughing. She is my best, and at times has been my only, friend. I am ever grateful for her patience, counsel, and company. Lord knows it takes effort to put up with me. I'm glad she does.

As our opportunities are growing, and we are reaching an age that life may separate us in distance, I kow that we will never be far apart in heart or vision. She is the one person I know I can depend on, through anything. I hope that she would say the same of me. Sister, may YHWH bless you in everything that you do, and guide you in the path ahead.

Mazel Tov!

  1. I pray that my girls are as close as you two are. I miss you both terribly.
