On Hypocrisy

Are our expectations of others different than what we expect of ourselves? Are such expectations attainable? What does it matter?

More and more often, I'm noticing it. In others. In myself. One applies their worldview and ideology to one side of a topic without considering the other perspectives. One applies their principles to one side of an argument, but ignores how those same principles apply to their own position. One applies their expectations of what ought to be to others, but not themselves.

Enough. It's not okay. It's not reasonable, respectful, loving, or gracious. We can't grow and create a better world with this method of approaching everything. We don't have to agree. But we can't get anywhere without holding an equal standard for all. Including ourselves.
